Achievements

On this page, I share various achievements I've had as well as some of my past presentations. A few achievements of note:

  • June 2025: Received 2025 Oklahoma Online Learning Excellence Award in Accessibility​ at Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSHRE) meeting

  • May–June 2025: Reviewed conference proposals for the 2025 EDUCAUSE Conference and 2025 OLC Accelerate Conference

  • April 2025: Voted in as Co-chair of the Accessibility subcommittee on Oklahoma's Council for Online Learning Excellence (COLE)

  • March 2025: Certified Instructional Design Professional (IDP) by the Online Learning Consortium (OLC)

  • December 2024: Became OU-Norman's EDUCAUSE Ambassador

  • Fall 2024: Joined the Texas Digital Learning Association (TxDLA) and the Oklahoma Council for Online Learning Excellence (COLE)'s Accessibility and Communication Subcommittees

  • Fall 2024: Reviewed proposals for the Online Learning Consortium (OLC)'s Innovate 2025 Conference​

  • March 2024: Completed Quality Matters' Applying the Quality Matters Rubric course (APPQMR)

HOW-TO: MEDIA (OKLIS STATE SESSION)

I presented on how to make accessible media as part of the OKLIS session on "Preparing for the ADA Compliance Deadline." This session was sponsored by the Oklahoma State Regents of Higher Education, and faculty and staff across the state were able to receive a digital badge for participation.

ENHANCING COURSE ACCESSIBILITY WITH AI (UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA)

I co-presented on a presentation about utilizing AI to improve course accessibility. We discussed innovations in the area, best practices, effective alt text, and using automated AI checkers.

INTEGRATING QUALITY STANDARDS IN AN ACCESSIBLE AND SUSTAINABLE COURSE TEMPLATE (BAYLOR)

I co-presented regarding my offices' new revised online course template for Canvas, called "template 3.0." This template revision involved increased accessibility, development of just-in-time guides for faculty, and explicit alignment with Quality Matters specific review standards.

OU ONLINE CONFERENCE 2022

During the second annual OU Online Conference at the University of Oklahoma, I presented in a breakout session regarding Universal Design for Learning and Accessibility for online courses. Attendees included program directors, faculty members, and other individuals involved in online learning.

ACADEMIC TECHNOLOGY EXPO 2022

I co-presented on a presentation directed for faculty and those involved in online learning regarding usability, readability, and accessibility in online courses. This session also included interactive breakout sessions for participants to practice what they learned.

ODL EMERGENCY REMOTE TEACHING WEBINAR SERIES (2020)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Oklahoma's Office of Digital Learning offered a webinar series for the emergency shift to online teaching. My webinar focused on student-centered learning, accessibility, usability, and quality assurance.
