Quality Assurance & Accessibility

COURSE QUALITY REVIEW
My team leads course quality assurance reviews. As I result, I regularly instruct and mentor colleagues on course quality standards. I have also created various trainings and checklists to describe our processes both internally and to external companies who will be collaborating on course reviews.
ACCESSIBILITY RESEARCH
In Fall 2024, I led a major research endeavor which turned into a 100+ page Accessibility Gap Analysis Report. This report covered the state of accessibility, original research conducted in 2022 and 2024, and a discussion of roadmap to ADA Title II compliance for 2026. In addition to the report, I also contributed to the following:
-
Organization action items document
-
Proposal for an accessibility work group
-
Abbreviated version of the report (5-page)
-
Discussions with university and organization staff on ADA Title II resources

ACCESSIBILITY PROGRESS
The graphic on the left showcases progress that I spearheaded on web accessibility while working at The University of Oklahoma and OU Education Services (I started in Fall 2018). Some of the listed items include:
-
Integrating accessibility checks into the course review process
-
Designing accessibility guides and resources, including proactively discussing accessibility during new hire onboarding
-
Conducting quantitative and qualitative research on instructional designer and other staff attitudes and knowledge of accessibility
-
Providing feedback in Federal Register on ADA Title II updates and presenting on the new regulations to faculty and staff
